Extraordinary Sea Life Images Captured by Soul Gazing Photography at Sal Salis, Ningaloo Reef

In May of 2016 I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to go Whale Shark Diving off Ningaloo Reef, Exmouth. I grabbed that opportunity with both hands and plunged into the ocean with all of the sea life in sight. I will be honest, I have always believed that nothing could top Safari adventures in terms of diversity of wildlife. I was however proven wrong once I took the dive.

My initial experience with the reef was jumping into hip deep water and watching this guy, the Blue Spotted Ribbontail Wray drift past me.

They knew it, I knew it .. it was game on now. I was hooked, pumping those legs all the way up and down the reef looking like a Wile E. Coyote and Road Runner chase. Except in this rendition, I was able to capture the chase through photography.

With this fish looking at me like 'who's this guy?' I knew I probably looked a little possessed with the bubbles bursting through my snorkel and flippers frantically slapping against the water. Honing in on the safari of the sea, I was determined to capture a beautiful photograph of each and every sea creature in the beautiful ningaloo reef.

Some were hiding..

Some I wanted to get closer to.

Some I didn't.

Every single time I took a dive, beneath me was a visual treat. The scene below seemed almost other-worldly. The reef grew on me, it wasn't long until it felt like home to me.

This filled my heart with joy and not to mention some of the most extraordinary sunsets I have experienced in my life.

This fish absolutely fascinated me! The neon blue lining around the body and the eyes is just perfect along with the spots that fade through to dark brown and light yellow. I have no idea how these fish were designed but they are truly beautiful to look at. There are many benefits for fish to look the way they do, as they can easily camouflage themselves from predators. This fish in particular just stuns me with it's beauty and vibrant colours.

Friends were found below and above.

Until next time it's bye from the fish and bye from me. Oh, and if you want an experience that'll blow you away, then get yourself up to Ningaloo Reef and book into Sal Salis.
