The Medieval Day was like nothing else I have ever seen. Over a 100 Noblemen and Noblewomen sprawled all across the Petersham Bowling Club lawns. Prizes for the best dressed, medieval battle enactments out on the green and live knighting were just some of the afternoons activities.
Their was a real community vibe on the day with everyone pulling together to make it an experience to remember for a while to come. Danelaw Medieval Fighting Society were joined by Reenactment group Einherjar who displayed tents full of medieval weapons and armour for kids of all ages to interact with as well a showcasing historical activities such as weaving, games and crafting.
Live music and minstrels to create the ambience, as well as an organic pig (from Feather and Bone Providore) on a spit, fire pit cooking to really drive home what time we had travelled back into.
An outdoor bar with Stone Dog Meadery Pty Ltd delicious honey mead on tap . Also Batch Brewing Company cooking up a few ales including a drink I thought I would never have, "Mango Ale".
I am so happy I went down and capture some special photographs. Seeing the effort people go to and the eye to detail whilst combing forces to make a remarkable day out was really special.
