Margaret River Day Tour Photographed by soul gazing photography

With the other family sleeping in and missing the ride, we were greeted to the news that we had a private tour for the day. This allowed for more time to get around and see locations like above & below that the locals don't even know about.

At the river mouth of Margaret River you can see the scars of the fire in 2011 which burned down close to 50 properties. The house you can see to the centre left of the image is heritage listed 'Wallcliffe House' built in 1865. Unfortunately the fires consumed this beautiful house whose history extended longer than the Margaret River Town.

It was all smiles once we got to Fraser Gallop Estate. A great pallet of food with some of the best wine in the region, was really a beautiful combination to keep all of us fulfilled.

Winemaker Clive Otto at work in the cellar rooms. He stumbled across Margaret River during a surfing safari back in 1989 and has accrued over two decades worth of knowledge and success in that time. He is someone who is definitely passionate about his wines and enjoys the region with all it has to offer.

All in the same day we got to sit amongst the rocks on the river where indigenous people have sat for tens of thousands of years before us. Once we had finished trying our hand at comprehending that, we decided to try our hand or should I say, feet at catching some Marron using our, well my brothers toes as the bait. Unfortunately no matter how delicious his toes were, they snuck through his vice.

The subtle beauty of this duck as it glides past is the give away blue feather. When this species flaps and flies you see a stunning blue array of feathers. I'd like to think it's symbolic of the wise words 'beauty is within'. However you may look on the outside to some, it is a fact that the way you carry yourself and your character is what defines your beauty.

Now this is just commical as the ducks were beating my family along the river.

This tree on the Margaret River sees huge groups of kids swinging 'Tarzan Style' all summer long, come on how much fun does that look?

This couple were the only other people on the river that day. We were more than lucky to have the pristine waters to ourselves.

The calm weather and cloudy day allowed for some stunning reflections and scenery on the river. Sean our tour guide allowed me to be 'canoeubered, canoe - ubered'?' along the river to get some lovely photographs of my family. The river experience was something to behold and the whole day was stunning, whilst steady paced, to calmly soak up all that Margaret River has on offer.
