Turbulent Times of Change

Was this ever a scene you would have pictured?

How are we going to monkey climb our way through this situation?

As we hang on to the hopes that our leaders are making all the right decisions for now and for our rapidly approaching future.

There are band aid fixes, seemingly straight forward solutions and new decisions that are being made for us everyday. There are people hard at work behind the scenes fighting for all of us in more ways than we know but are they made in the best interest for us? The hard truths are that this lockdown has more serious impacts on our society than anything we have ever experienced, whatever decisions are made for us will never be in the best interests for everyone.

Grab ahold of your rails because this is going to be a bumpy ride.

I heard a quote recently that resonated to my core and it goes something like this, “Fear is an illusion but danger is not, so we must prepare for danger and not act out in fear.”

If we follow the light we just know how many incredibly extraordinary challenges we humans can overcome.

During a time when we need to come together, support each other and look after our fellow human beings I have never noticed so much division. From shaming, banning and shouting each other down it is clear we are at odds, forgetting that whilst we have more time on our hands, patience with our fellow man cannot be overstated. This is a time for real heroes and no, I don’t mean keyboard warriors.

Let us close the chapter on separation, forceful control, intolerance, hate, corruption and hurt. Instead can we create a future that will matter more to us? As my grandfather would say, let’s “decide our destiny”, adopt a loving nature, community mindset and tolerant consideration. After all heart disease has been one of the leading causes of mortality worldwide for years and current number one in Australia. Taking care of our hearts in more than one way can begin to create a more healthy planet.
